Daphne is the largest city on Baldwin County’s Eastern Shore, set on the bluffs of Mobile Bay where I-10 meets US-98, about 20 minutes from downtown Mobile. Daphne balances bay town and everyday convenience. Sunset walks at Village Point Park Preserve and the Daphne bayfront sit minutes from the retail and dining that line US-98 and Highway 181. It is an established, settled community that still has active growth on its eastern side, which keeps a healthy mix of housing ages and price points in play.

Neighborhoods and housing

Lake Forest, one of the largest subdivisions in Alabama, anchors the attainable end of the market with golf course living and a huge range of homes. Established neighborhoods like Timbercreek offer the classic Eastern Shore feel, while the Belforest and Highway 181 corridor is where the newer construction is filling in. The spread of price points is wider in Daphne than anywhere else on the Eastern Shore.

New construction

New construction is very active along the Highway 181 and Belforest corridor on the east side of the city, with multiple communities building at once. Gold Fortified construction is standard in most new builds, which helps with coastal insurance costs.
